Factory Warranty Servicing in Gippsland

Your factory warranty is worth protecting. The standard we work to at CPK McLaren Motorbody means your warranty stays valid, with the documentation to prove it.

What warranty-safe servicing actually looks like

A factory warranty is not voided by choosing an independent workshop. What can affect it is using the wrong parts, skipping service intervals, or failing to document the service correctly.

At CPK McLaren Motorbody, we work to the following standard on every service:

  • Manufacturer-specified procedures. We follow the service schedule published by the manufacturer for your specific vehicle, not a generic interval.
  • Correct oil grade and specification. The specification the manufacturer requires, not a close equivalent.
  • Genuine parts and service kits. Correct filters, fluids, and components to manufacturer tolerances. Detail on our Genuine Parts and Service Kits page.
  • Log book stamped. Every service recorded in your service book in the format the manufacturer expects.
  • Digital record maintained. A full paper trail held at our workshop, available if ever needed.

This is not a special “warranty service” tier. It is the standard we hold ourselves to on every service.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Under Australian Consumer Law, a manufacturer cannot void your factory warranty simply because you used an independent workshop, provided the service is completed to manufacturer specification. Dealer servicing is not required.

For the full explanation of how this works and what to watch for, read our blog post on independent servicing and your warranty.

Our documentation process

When you service with us, you leave with:

Service book stamped. Your physical service book updated with the date, kilometres, service type, and our workshop details, in the format the manufacturer expects to see.

Digital record. We maintain a record of every service completed, including parts used, fluids used, and any additional work carried out. This record is available to you and, if required, can be provided in the event of a warranty dispute.

Itemised receipt. Showing the parts and labour completed, including part specifications.

A complete service history is the single most effective protection against a warranty claim being disputed. We keep that history complete.

What “manufacturer specification” means in practice

This is the point that separates a warranty-safe service from one that leaves you exposed.

Manufacturer specification means the exact requirements published in the manufacturer’s service documentation for your vehicle. Not “equivalent.” Not “meets the standard.” The actual specified grade, interval, and procedure.

Our Genuine Parts and Service Kits page covers the detail of which oils, filters, and fluids that involves. The principle on every service: read the actual service due indicator, follow the manufacturer’s schedule, use the parts the vehicle was designed for, reset the service indicator with a compatible diagnostic tool, and document everything.

For European and prestige vehicles, see our European Car Servicing page for brand-specific procedures.

Frequently asked questions

Will CPK McLaren service my new car without voiding the warranty?
Yes, provided the service is completed to manufacturer specification, which is the standard we work to. Australian Consumer Law does not require dealer servicing for warranty protection. We complete the service, stamp the log book, and provide full documentation.

What documentation do I get after a service?
Your physical service book stamped, an itemised receipt showing parts and labour, and a digital record held at our workshop. You have a full paper trail.

Does this apply to all makes?
We regularly service European and prestige vehicles including BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, VW, Porsche, and Lexus. If you have a different make, call us. We will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit and what we can do for your specific vehicle.

What if I have a warranty dispute?
We can provide your full service history from our records, including parts specifications used, to support any dispute. We cannot intervene directly with a manufacturer or dealer, but correct documentation is your strongest tool.
